Reduce Hot Flashes

sunset

How can you relieve hot flashes?

There are several ways to help relieve those moments when you feel like your body is on fire,...the days when you instantly turn beet red and within minutes, need a towel to dry off from perspiring so much;...when all your makeup literally runs down your face and your hair is so wet you'd think you just got out of the shower, not to mention the nights when you awaken wringing wet and have to change the sheets.

Miserable,...just miserable. To say the least, menopause is not the kindest time to most women.

Whether you are already experiencing your change-of-life or whether you're still waiting for your turn, here are some tips that can help you reduce the severity of these bodily changes when they begin happening to you.

Antioxidants: Research suggests that increasing your antioxidants will benefit you by reducing inflammation. Here are some natural menopause remedies:

  • Wild Yam Cream is a favorite of women for many female issues such as PMS, hot flashes, infertility and more.

Studies have shown that many of these female health problems are related to women having an excess of estrogen and not enough of the balancing hormone progesterone.

Wild Yam Cream has natural progesterone in it. Most creams on the market today use synthetic (man-made) progestin which has been linked to various health issues.

Be sure to read the ingredients and look for "natural progesterone" on the label. Products with natural progesterone usually cost more than the synthetic progesterone, but the natural progesterone usually works faster, so be prepared to pay for what works.

Women who have had unrelenting female problems for over 5 years and for whom the doctors tried everything, many times see a difference after 2 weeks to a month.

The natural progesterone in Wild Yam Cream delivers its progesterone over time, so give it at least 3 months. If you do not see a noticeable change in female menses problems after 3 months, try another natural remedy; but you will probably be so ecstatic with your results that you will not need to.

Caution: Do not use Wild Yam Cream if you are currently taking HRTs (hormone replacement therapy).

  • Vitamin E: is a fat-soluble vitamin whose antioxidant properties may help prevent some types of cancer.

Vitamin E can help reduce your menopausal symptoms and lower your risk of developing breast cancer.

Free Radicals: Vitamin E is an effective antioxidant, which means it can reduce the activity of certain harmful chemicals in the body called free radicals.

Since free radicals can lead to cancer, there is reason to believe that antioxidants help reduce the risk of a cancer incidence, and may help the body's immune system fight cancer recurrences.

The medical community is divided on the question of whether and how much vitamin E actually helps prevent cancer or recurrences of malignancy, despite numerous studies. Be sure to read dosage instructions on the label.

  • Soy: Research suggests that soy may have some benefit for reducing the symptoms of menopause. Foods that contain soy include tofu, tempeh, miso, soy milk, whole soybeans, texturized vegetable protein, and soy powder.
  • Black Cohosh provides effective relief as well as reducing other symptoms of menopause including headaches, heart palpitations, and anxiety.
  • A German study of over 600 women found more than 80% of hot flashes and other menopausal symptoms improved within 8 weeks of beginning treatment with Black cohosh.

  • Exercise: Some kind of exercise at least 30 minutes every day,...you can walk, run, ride a bicycle, or do another activity. Just don't exercise within 3 hours of going to bed. Otherwise, you may increase your chance of night sweats.
  • Dietary: Your diet can trigger hot flashes. These include alcohol, caffeine, and cayenne or other spicy foods. If your hot flashes seem to be worse after consuming these foods, try eliminating the offenders and see if the hot flashes subside.
  • HRT: If your doctor recommends hormone replacement therapy that includes estrogen replacement this may provide relief, but, before choosing HRT, you should understand both the risks and the benefits and how these relate to your personal medical history.
  • Choose The Right Clothing: Hot flashes are often worse during hot weather. Wear all cotton clothes that allow your skin to breathe and keep a fan nearby during hot weather to reduce the number of hot flashes you experience.
